Globe, ‘di nakalusot kay RJ

Patuloy pa rin ang pagtanggi ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs and Information Technology Communications sa pagkilos ng higanteng Globe Telecom Inc. na magsilbing isang common tower company.

Bagamat naaprubahan noong Agosto ng Securities and Exchange Commission ang Globe na magtayo ng hiwalay na tower holding company para mag-operasyon sa lahat o bahagi ng kanilang mga tower sa buong kapuluan, nanindigan pa rin si Presidential Adviser for Economic Affairs and Information Technology Communications Ramon “RJ” Jacinto na dapat lamang limitahan ang bilang ng mga registered common tower companies sa bansa.

“We should make it available only to independent firms under the draft common tower policy,” pahayag ni Jacinto.

“Globe’s desire to be the common tower company is simply not feasible as the common tower policy is being implemented by the Duterte administration precisely because of the admitted failure of the present operators to build adequate towers especially in the rural areas,” dagdag pa ni Jacinto.

Naniniwala ang Globe na higit pa nilang mapabibilis ang konstruksiyon ng kanilang mga cellular tower sa bansa kung mapahihintulutan silang maitatag ang isang tower company na hiwalay sa kanilang naunang kompanya ng telecommunication.
